قبل عشرين يوما ً مضت دخلت عالم الأبوة. صِبا، طفلتي الوليدة شرفتني بمسؤولية أن أكون والدها المحب، إنها أحلى نجمة صغيرة وقعت عليها عيناي.في وجهها الحلو أضاءت بهجتي عندما انقسمتُ إلى قطع صغيرة من الضوء لحظة التقت عينانا. نظرت إلي ولم تطرف. لا أستطيع أبدا ً إبعاد نظرتها من مخيلتي. لقد كان حبا ً أبديا ً من أول نظرة.
صِبا يا حوريتي الجميلة، لقد كنا جميعا ً بانتظار أن نفتتن بعينيك البريئتين لتسعة أشهر طوال. أنا وماما، أجدادك وجداتك، خالاتك وأخوالك، عماتك وأعمامك وكل عائلة الشيخ في البحرين والسعودية. أتعلمين، أنت الوليدة الأولى في بيت يعج بالصبيان وعائلتك كانت في شوق لوليدة حلوة تنثر الضياء حيثما خطت.
قبل هذه الليالي العشرين كنت خلوا ً من المشاغل، ولكنني الآن أرى نجوما ً أينما نظرت. لقد سحرتني وللمرة الأولى في حياتي بت لا أعرف ما أقول!

20 days ago I was initiated into the world of fatherhood. Siba, my baby girl honored me with the responsibility of being her loving father, the sweetest little star I’ve ever laid my eyes on.
In her cute face there shone my joy as I was shattered to little pieces of light when we first made eye-contact. She looked at me and did not blink. I can never take her look out of my mind. It was utter love at first sight.
Siba my fair mermaid, we were all waiting for 9 long months to adore your innocent eyes. Me and mommy, grandpas and grandmas, aunties and uncles and all the Shaikh family in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. You know, you are the first baby girl amongst a household swarming with boys and your family was longing for a cute little girl to sprinkle light wherever she walked.
Before those 20 nights, I was somewhat care free, but since you looked into my eyes I see stars all over. You’ve put a spell on me and for the first time in my life I don’t know what to say!
Let me borrow a line form my other imaginary friend Jack Nicholson: You make me want to be a better person.
